Due to certain reasons (reliability, security, speed), most hosting providers use operating systems of Unix (FreeBSD, NetBSD, various distributions of Linux Web Hosting) on their servers.
Any computer needs constant monitoring, especially if the server that hosts the web project, a corporate site or tens or hundreds of sites.
Remote server administration is the service program of computer (operating system, various server applications), that comes without direct physical access. The server is usually in the premises of data center services provider. That is, all work is done via Internet or local network, with secure communications protocols (eg SSH or KVM).
The process of administration includes quite a wide range of tasks, the maintenance of server includes the aspects that are as follow :
